That does seem to have been a big jump, though I somehow missed it and haven't seen any issues in 3.8 to 3.10. I guess it was backwards compatible.
Is the way that this is supposed to be used documented anywhere? I can (sort of) see from the code what the general principle is, but I can't find any documentation on it. I'd really like to be confident that I'm coding this correctly as I can foresee lots of "stuff not working" incidents ahead due to non-compliant code that I re-write as I migrate over.
